Question
I am Windows 10 user. I have NVIDIA QUADRO P5000, and ASUS ZENITH motherboard with AMD processor. Of course i have connected SUNIX to NVIDIA using de DISPLAY PORT to DISPLAY PORT CABLE, and of course i am using the correct USB-DP port of the SUNIX card (not the other one)
I have done all the things in the user manual, i can see "ASMedia USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.10 (Microsoft) in Device Manager. And all seems to be OK. But when I connnect the monitor it seems to believe that is a USB storage device, and the screen stays off. I have tried to connect my WACOM CINTIQ pro, that is USB-C screen too. And it does not work too. But i can use it like a tablet without screen, so USB seems to be working but not sending Display signal.
What can i do to solve this issue?
Thank you very much
Answer
Dear Sir
Thanks for your detail information.
According to your trouble status, it seems that video connection is not correct between graphics card and SUNIX UPD2018 card. Could you please check below items.
1). Is there any warning message in the device manager?
If true, please refer to attached trouble shutting SOP.
2).Check video output from GPU is workable.
Without SUNIX UPD2018 connection. Will graphics card's (AMD or NV) DisplayPort video output to LCD display work as well?
3). Check bound accessory DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable is workable.
Could you please try another DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable connecting between graphics card and SUNIX UPD2018 card?
If problem happens on SUNIX card or accessory cable, please return whole item back to your vendor.
Question
1) there is no warning in device manager, i have Microsoft driver installed automatically.
2) the output is working ok, i have pluged dp2dp cable to all of my dp outputs of my graphic card (included those that i have my working monitors pluged into)
3) I have tried another dp2dp cable, a new one, and it is not working too.
-------------
When i plug-in the usb-c cable i get this message from Windows "USB or Thunderbolt device functionality might be limited". It does the same in both USB-C ports of SUNIX card. It is like alternate mode was not working and both ports was only data.
Answer
Thanks for your update. In my opinion, it might be compatible with graphics card.
1). Could you please provide your AMD motherboard and NV graphics card information.
2). Does issue happen on AMD on-board Displayport ?
3). Did you ever try INTEL platform?
Question
1) Motherboard is ASUS ROG ZENITH EXTREME with AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X processor. Graphic card is NVIDIA QUADRO P5000
2) No, this issue happens on any of the DISPLAY PORTS from NVIDIA QUADRO graphic card.
3) I cannot try INTEL platform, this is my only PC Workstation
thank you
Answer
Sorry causing your trouble.
After checking with RD team, here is my suggestion.
1). We did test on NVIDIA GTX960 graphics card, and it works. But we did not test NVIDIA QUADRO P5000 before.
2). Could you please try to connect DP cable between SUNIX card and ASUS motherboard DP video port?
